President Droupadi Murmu’s visit to Deoghar scheduled for June 10 and 11 has been postponed, according to an official communication from Rashtrapati Bhavan to AIIMS Deoghar management and district administration. The postponement affects the first MBBS convocation ceremony at AIIMS Deoghar, for which a new date will be announced soon.
AIIMS Director Dr. Saurabh Varshney received the notification late Friday evening while returning to Deoghar from Ranchi after inviting Chief Minister Hemant Soren to attend the convocation. Dr. Varshney also confirmed that the President’s program in Visakhapatnam has been postponed.
No reasons have been provided for the postponements. Authorities in Deoghar and Visakhapatnam are currently coordinating to reschedule the President’s visits and related official events. The new date for the AIIMS MBBS convocation is yet to be finalized.
